Ohio Division of Real Estate Online License Renewal

The Ohio Division of Real Estate is making another great improvement to the services it provides to real estate licensees, this time involving online license renewal. As you know, the Division has provided for a number of years online access to view licensee information, coursework, and enforcement history. Soon, real estate professionals will benefit from fully automated and online renewal and continuing education course submission.

Last week, the Division issued notice that beginning at 8am on July 17, 2017, real estate brokers and salespersons may renew their licenses online. Additionally, licensees will be permitted to electronically submit with their renewal proof of completion of their continuing education. Because the online renewal process is new, the Division has advised that it will contain step by step renewal instructions on the online renewal portion of the website. The Division’s “eLicense Center” can be found at https://elicense3.com.ohio.gov.

This development is welcome news. Licensees will no longer be required to hand-write renewals, write a check, assemble continuing education certificates, and mail (or even worse… hand deliver) their annual renewal and continuing education forms to the Division. In an ever-changing and fast paced real estate industry, the ease of filing online is great for busy and time-strapped real estate professionals.

In preparation for online renewals, the Division’s online services portion of its website will be down beginning July 14th through 8am on July 17th. Those licensees requiring assistance with online renewal may contact the Division of Real Estate at 614.466.4100.
