Scholarship Winners Recognized
November 25, 2013 |
These days, a college education can be quite the knockout blow to your bank account. Thankfully, this is not the case for several real estate pre-licensing scholarship winners recognized by Hondros College and the Columbus REALTORS® Foundation. A special gathering was held on Monday honoring the winners of the John G. and Linda Hondros scholarship, the 2013 Women’s Council of REALTORS® scholarship and the Columbus REALTORS® Memorial scholarship.
The winners include Rachel Kayla, Jeff Whiting, Bien Nelson, Oliver Chapman and Kathleen Short, all from Columbus, Ohio, as well as Jennifer Eyman of Lancaster, OH. Scholarships ranged from $1,100 to $1,400 and were awarded based in part on the passion and drive to become a real estate professional exemplified by the winners through the application and interview process. Recipients widely expressed enthusiasm for the opportunity that comes with these scholarships to enter the field of real estate, or in some cases, move to a different area of expertise in that field. Jennifer Eyman had spent much of her career in the title business and stated in regards to winning the scholarship, “I’m very humbled by it. I’m very excited to embark on a new adventure and am looking forward to being on the other side of the closing table.” Jeff Whiting shared his excitement at the opportunity as well, “I’m very appreciative and honored that they’ve awarded the scholarship to me, and I look forward to a career in real estate.”
Many of the recipients plan to begin their courses in January and it’s understood that all the winners have an exciting journey ahead of them filled with lots of hard work. As they embark on their quest for real estate pre-licensing education through Hondros College and ultimately, a rewarding career in real estate, we wish them all the luck in the world. Congrats!
