Congrats to Our September 2019 Instructor of The Month – Ron Eatmon

We’re happy to announce the winner of September 2019’s Instructor of the month – Ron Eatmon! On top of working with the Hondros family for nine years, he started his own insurance agency in Columbus 20 years ago – now that’s an experienced instructor!
Ron first learned about Hondros during an Open House event and was impressed with our campus. He was also drawn by “the reputation in the community” along with our student-focused classes and campus.
His favorite part about working at Hondros is
“Meeting new people who, one day, will lead the industry I love!”
Ron goes on to say he greatly enjoys “seeing the light bulb turn on in the heads of students learning a complex subject in a short period of time.”
He enjoys taking on challenges at Hondros as well, like “Finding ways to teach diverse students of all ages in the same setting and making it work.”
Further, he describes Hondros as “Professional” and “challenging but fair!”
Ron’s advice for new Hondros instructors is
- Be patient
- Make sure you LOVE people
- Be yourself!
- Welcome the good and bad feedback
- Continue to be teachable!
It’s clear that educating students is a passion of Ron’s. This is exemplified in his favorite quote from Marian Wright Edelman,
“Education is for improving the lives of others and for leaving your community and world better than you found it.”
Ron defines success as “having the faith to follow your calling in life!” Which is evident in how he encourages his students.
