How did you do? Do you need additional study time to feel confident? Most students do! Here are some study tips and resources to help you pass the real estate exam the first time you take it.
Study Tips
Now that you understand the exam format, dedicate time to studying the subject matter. Many successful test-takers create a study schedule to plan how much time they will spend reviewing each section of content and when they will take practice exams.
Start by reviewing the examination content outline in the PSI Exam Booklet. Make sure to read study materials covering all the topics in the content outline. As you study, take notes—writing things down helps commit information to memory and is also an excellent business practice.
Discuss new terms or concepts regularly with other students, as this will test your understanding and reinforce what you’ve learned. For the best results, study in 45 to 60-minute sessions, as concentration tends to diminish over extended periods.
Utilize high-quality exam prep materials and attend review sessions. Consider scheduling tutoring sessions with an experienced mentor.
Taking the Exam
On the day of your exam, it’s essential to arrive 30 minutes early to allow time for signing-in, identification, and familiarization with the process. Arriving late may result in denial of entry and forfeiture of the examination fee.
You must bring one valid, unexpired form of identification that matches the name you used to register. Failure to provide the correct ID will prevent you from taking the exam and result in the loss of your fee.
During the exam, strict security protocols are enforced, including the prohibition of electronic devices, reference materials, and certain personal items. Violating these rules, engaging in prohibited behavior, or having unauthorized materials can lead to the termination of your exam and possible further consequences, including being barred from future exams. Proctors will inspect personal items to ensure compliance, and no prohibited items are allowed within your reach.
Additional rules apply for those taking remote online proctored exams, such as maintaining adequate lighting, keeping your hands and eyes on the screen, and avoiding breaks.
