Hondros College Announces New Involvement in the Oil & Gas Industry

Hondros College, with multiple locations throughout Ohio dedicated to helping the Ohio workforce enter and succeed inĀ various careers and industries, announced today it will begin offering SafeLand USA safety courses for individuals and companies who will be involved in developing Ohioās Shale resources and those servicing such companies.
Individuals and employees of any company that work on-site or step foot on an oil and gas rig are required to maintain safety awareness certifications and skills. Hondros College, a member of the Ohio Oil & Gas Association, will be offering the eight-hour SafeLand USA basic orientation course, in addition to a comprehensive three-day SafeLand USA Core Compliance Course. The courses will be offered at Hondros Collegeās Akron and Columbus campuses. Upon request, Hondros College representatives areĀ available to travel statewide and nationwide to provide on-site and custom training for companies, associations and other groups looking to get their entire team the required education.

Such individuals are recommended to take, at minimum, the eight-hour SafeLand USA Basic Orientation safety course. This includes a wide range of businesses including construction, drilling, pipeline, trucking, energy, oil, gas, technical, welding, paving and more. For individuals and companies looking to strengthen their safety processes and awareness, the 24-hour SafeLand USA Core Compliance course is recommended by oil field operators. This course covers the safety basic orientation in addition to bringing together the health, safety and environmental training certifications most requested by oil field operators and other employers.
