Hondros College Cleveland Campus Celebrates 25th Anniversary with Boys and Girls Clubs Donation

Hondros College will celebrate the 25th anniversary of its Cleveland South/Independence Branch campus and recent commendation from the Ohio State Senate by providing Thanksgiving meals for 25 local families through the Boys and Girls Clubs of Cleveland.

“We are proud of our Cleveland history, and we look forward to serving area students for years to come,” said Tina Lapp, president of the Hondros College. “With Thanksgiving approaching, we wanted to show our gratitude for 25 great years by helping area families to enjoy the holiday.”

Boys and Girls Clubs of Cleveland will use a $2,000 donation from Hondros to feed 25 area families on Thanksgiving this year.

“We’re grateful to Hondros College for its generous donation,” said Richard Starr, a Boys and Girls Clubs of Cleveland unit director. “With help from companies like Hondros, we can provide meals to those families who are most in need and relieve some of the stress many parents feel during the holidays.”

John G. Hondros founded Hondros College in 1981 as The Ohio Real Estate Preparatory School. The Cleveland campus opened nine years later in response to the school’s increasing enrollment and course offerings.

The Ohio Senate proclamation describes Hondros School as an “exemplary institution” and adds: “Throughout the school’s history, its faculty and administrators have given willingly of their time, energy and abilities far beyond what was required or expected, and we are certain that in the years to come, these fine educators will continue to help their students become capable and well-rounded individuals.”

Senators Keith Faber, president of the Ohio Senate, and Thomas F. Patton, majority floor leader, signed the commendation honoring Hondros College.

“Many know that Hondros College has been a big part of the community for several years and has been an exemplary leader in training Ohioans, as well as serving the public,” said Senator Patton. “Their donation of 25 Thanksgiving meals to local families is a remarkable demonstration of their service to the community and further testament to the college’s commitment to our state’s citizens.”
