New Course for Ohio Supervisory and Trainee Appraisers

Ohio Appraising for the Supervisor and Trainee is here and ready!  This intriguing course commences with an overview of national and state appraisal regulatory bodies as well as a comprehensive discussion of the minimum AQB qualifying criteria for Supervisory Appraisers and the various appraiser classifications. Obligations of appraiser ethics and competency are also discussed with a focus on Supervisory and Trainee Appraisers. Included in the course is a special section highlighting Ohio topics and special obligations.

Supervisory Appraiser candidates have long expressed a need for specific points of responsibility as they supervise trainees. The course concludes with a checklist of specific roles and responsibilities of Supervisory Appraisers and Trainee Appraisers, including a best practices designed to ensure thorough and meaningful supervisory oversight, and best practice development by trainees in appraisal development and reporting.

Completion of the course is required as part of the application process for the Ohio Registered Assistant credential. Certified Appraisers who are seeking to supervise trainee appraisers may gain 4-hours of Ohio continuing education credit for course completion.
